Description:

Magna Graecia, Apulian, Canosan, Hellenistic Period, ca. 3rd to 2nd century BCE. A lavishly painted ceramic head of a female votive figure, likely a goddess given her elaborate coiffure and headdress as well as her sensitively rendered beautiful visage. Liberal amounts of pink, red, and white pigment still adorn the piece, embellishing her face, hairdo, and headdress. Very nice with extraordinary details and pigmentation! Size: 3.125" W x 3.125" H (7.9 cm x 7.9 cm); 5.75" H (14.6 cm) on included custom stand.
