Magna Graecia, Southern Italy, Canosa, ca. 4th Century BCE. Mold-formed, white-slipped terracotta funerary figure of a woman and goddess. Base of the vessel features a woman's head with hat adorned with spools, classical hair, and earrings, flanked by two tall branches. Above her stands a goddess with crown, peplos draped around hips and naked chest. A large handle extends high above the piece in a loop. Hollow interior. 17" H.
