Northern Greece, 6th century BCE. Four identical phalerae with central boss. Four cross-shaped strap holders of varying design. One with an incised line along the edges. The others with profiles. Three crosses with an incised circle in the middle, the fourth with a central knob. Seven appliques, one profiled, the others club-shaped, with ribbed decoration and filled with iron. Buckle with five mushroom-shaped knobs. Size: largest example 2-1/2"L (6.4 cm) x 2-3/4"W (7 cm). Provenance: Ex-private Herbert A. Cahn collection, Basle, 1990s.
