Description:

Greece, 4th century BCE. Rare and exquisite bronze "box" mirror decorated on one side with detailed scene of Pan, holding staff, feet sporting hooves, long tail behind. In front of Pan is Eros, wings outstretched, cape flowing behind, standing before an altar, each on rocky outcropping. This side attached to a bronze backing with 4 bands of machined grooves. Size: 6" W (15.2 cm); 8.5" H (21.6 cm) on included custom stand.
