Greece, Athens, ca. 4th century BCE. A remarkably well formed ancient terracotta foot votive, depicting a right foot, likely male, from the high ankle down, with ankle bone on either side, long arched toes with nails, and nice inner arch. Foot is standing on a raised flatform. Hints of original red and white pigment remain. Similar examples are generally attributed to the Etruscans, recent conferring with Dr. Florent Heintz of Sotheby's has drawn the conclusion that this is Greek Attic and not Etruscan. 9-7/8"L.
