Description:

Ancient Greece, Athens (Attic), ca. 5th century BCE. An elegant terracotta skyphos featuring a deep cup with upward swooping handles, all sitting upon a discoid foot. Black glaze envelops the vessel, save for a single buff band with black vertical rays on the exterior just beneath the rim and a second red band on the interior rim. A target motif embellishes the underside of the foot. Size: 6" L x 4.1" W x 2.6" H (15.2 cm x 10.4 cm x 6.6 cm)
