Description:

Ancient Greece, Athens, ca. 5th century BCE. A lovely kylix (drinking cup) with a ringed base, a wide body with tall walls, a thin rim, and a pair of applied parabolic handles. The interior and exterior are coated in lustrous jet-black glaze, and areas of faint silvery iridescence provide a nice chromatic complementarity. Size: 6.7" W x 2.1" H (17 cm x 5.3 cm).
