Description:

Greece, Athens (Attic), ca. late 6th to early 5th century BCE. A beautiful lekythos, lekythos (oil pouring vessel) with a long, thin neck ending in a flat, flared rim; a thin, strap-like handle rises in a curve from the gently sloping shoulder to the neck. The body tapers to a narrow leg and a flat, thick foot. The body is ornamented with black figure palmettes and ray bands on the shoulder. Some incised details on the palmettes fill out the artwork. Size: 1.75" W x 5.2" H (4.4 cm x 13.2 cm)
