Description:

Greece, Athens, ca. Late 6th-5th Century BCE. Beautifully done in black figure technique, with Bacchic narrative along sides. Wide cup stands on a platform with tall and narrow stem, with two thin handles on either side of cup. Interior of cup is black with single red circle with dancing satyr figure in red paint, with incised detail. Circling around the outside of the kylix is a satyr scene with owl eyes on either side. White paint is added to the owl eyes. 10-1/4"W x 3-1/2"H.
