Magna Graecia, South Italy, Apulia, ca. 350 to 325 BCE. A pretty red-figure plate on a raised foot featuring an elegant "Lady of Fashion" wearing a saccos (head scarf) with beaded pearl strands and hair pins. Her profile head is encircled by a stylized wave motif that is bordered by 2 bands of white leaves with tongues around the edge of the rim. Size: 9.375" Diameter x 2" H (23.8 cm x 5.1 cm)

Provenance: private Rochester, Minnesota, USA collection; ex-Ancient Resource Auction 2012, ex-S. Florida collection acquired from Royal Athena Galleries, NYC, NY in the mid-1980s.
