Magna Graecia, South Italic Colonies, Apulia, ca. 340 to 325 BCE. A lovely wheel-thrown pottery olpe with a circular base, an apple-shaped body, a rounded shoulder, a squat neck with a flared rim, and an applied strap handle joining rim to shoulder. The entire vessel is coated with lustrous black-hued glaze of an elegant presentation consistent with fine Apulian artistry. Size: 2.875" W x 3.2" H (7.3 cm x 8.1 cm).
