Description:

Greek, South Italic, Apulian, ca. 4th century BCE. A beautifully iridescent kylix, a drinking cup, with an elegant design comprised of an incised curved diamond form with impressed leaves at the four termini on the tondo, two raised loop handles, and a round, concave foot. The black glaze has a silvery iridescence that was likely meant to imitate bronze or silver vessels of the same form. Absolutely lovely! Size: 7.625" W handlespan x 2.125" H (19.4 cm x 5.4 cm)

Provenance: private Carlton collection, Los Angeles, California, USA, acquired between 1965 and 1980
