Greek, Hellenistic Period, ca. 3rd to 1st century BCE. A gorgeous ring comprised of 88% gold (equivalent to 21K+ gold) with a three-lobed body and a thin band. Atop each lobe is an integral ovoid bezel set with a slender, hand-carved agate stone. Each stone displays a lightly-raised inscription, the middle with "AYTXI," another with "YTYX," and the last illegible and faded over time. An elegant and personalized example of ancient jewelry! Size (ring): 0.5" W x 0.6" H (1.3 cm x 1.5 cm); size (shank): 0.5" Diameter (1.3 cm); size (largest stone): 0.375" W (1 cm); quality of gold: 88% (equivalent to 21K+); total weight: 4.9 grams.
