Greek, Hellenistic Period, ca. late 4th to 2nd century BCE. A magnificent necklace, made of a 90% gold (equivalent to 21K+) pendant and exquisite 90% gold (equivalent to 21K+), tightly woven chain with a thick hook clasp. The pendant features a lovely ovoid sardonyx set into a deep gold inlay with scrollwork at its lower corners. The sardonyx has shades of black, white, and coffee brown. Below the scrollwork is a thin gold bar with three precious stones hanging from it on tightly coiled gold wires: two pearls and an emerald. This elegant, wearable ancient necklace is eye catching without being overstated and will lend a regal air to whomever it accompanies! Size of pendant: 0.95" W (2.4 cm); length of chain: 18" L (45.7 cm); 90% gold (equivalent to 21K+); total weight: 22.8 grams

  • Condition: The chain is in good condition but has some small areas of pulls/bends. The pendant itself is in lovely condition with light deposits in the lower profile areas and some small scratches in the surface of the sardonyx.
