Greece, Hellenistic Period, ca. late 4th to 2nd century BCE. A striking 20K+ gold (86%) ring with an octagonal exterior and smooth circular interior band. The wide face of the ring is inscribed with "OMONAIA". This translates to "rhythm" or "harmony", a word often found on wedding rings. Size (ring): 0.8" W x 0.7" H (2 cm x 1.8 cm); (face): 0.4" W x 0.3" H (1 cm x 0.8 cm); quality of gold: 86% (equivalent to 20K+); total weight: 11.1 grams; US ring size 3.5
