Classical World, northern/eastern Mediterranean, Greco-Phoenician, ca. 6th to 1st century BCE; Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A set of 2 hand-built glass artifacts, each exhibiting mesmerizing blue hues. First is a Greco-Phoenician 'eye' bead, so called because of the opaque white rings inlaid around the surface. Next is a Roman glass weight resembling a bottle or plug with a cylindrical body and a narrow top handle. Size (weight): 0.85" W x 1.32" H (2.2 cm x 3.4 cm); (bead): 0.77" W x 0.69" H (2 cm x 1.8 cm)

  • Condition: Repair to eye bead with light adhesive residue along break lines that have been smoothed down; glass weight is intact and very good. Both with light abrasions and pitting. Great blue hues throughout.
