Description:

Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A gorgeous and quite sizeable glass vessel of translucent yellow-green hues presenting a broad apple-shaped body with a long conical neck that is elegantly cinched at the base, flares dramatically, and finally resolves in a folded rim. In addition to this elegant form, the body is graced by well-defined diagonal ribbing executed via pattern molding. While the underside of the base is concave, there is no broken pontil as the piece was mold blown, allowing for that remarkable surface pattern. Age has graced the vessel's entire surface with a silvery and rainbow iridescence that frankly is to die for! Size: 5.375" in diameter x 7.875" H (13.7 cm x 20 cm)
