Ancient Greece, Athens (Attic), ca. 5th to early 4th century BCE. An elegant Attic blackware oinochoe (pouring vessel) with a bulbous body, a short cylindrical neck that dramatically flares to a trefoil spout, and a strap handle bridging rim to shoulder, all upon a circular buff base. A lovely vessel, with particularly glossy, almost reflective finish, created to store and serve precious liquids like oil or wine. Size: 3.4" W x 4.625" H (8.6 cm x 11.7 cm)
