Ancient Central Asia, Bactrian, ca. 2500 to 2250 BCE. A fabulous gathering of 11 hand-carved banded agate beads presenting hues of sage green, citrine, beige, brown, and opaque white. The diamond-shaped beads have suspension holes drilled lengthwise through the bodies as well as smooth surface textures throughout. Beads like these were used to create some of the most elaborate jewelry pieces in the ancient world. Size of largest: 1" W x 1.625" H (2.5 cm x 4.1 cm)
