A wonderful Roman carnelian intaglio depicting a club between 2 stalks of wheat with the inscription "LSC," mounted in a Neoclassical gilt silver ring to be wearable. The wheat and club are intended to symbolize abundance and fortitude. Size of intaglio: 0.6" L x 0.5" W (1.5 cm x 1.3 cm); of ring: 0.8" L x 0.7" W (2 cm x 1.8 cm); US ring size: 4.25; metal quality: 43.6% silver, 37% copper, 12.5% gold; weight: 3.6 grams

  • Condition: Ancient intaglio set in Neoclassical ring to be wearable. Some small nicks to ring that do not affect intaglio, but otherwise, ring and intaglio are intact and in overall nice condition. Patina to silver that can be easily cleaned. Good preservation of detail on intaglio.
