Description:

Perisphinctes sp. and blamenite. Found in Drugendorf (Oberpfalz), Germany. Upper Jurassic (Malm): 154 to 144 million years ago. With its enormous proportions and stunning aesthetic, this would make a fantastic interior design accent fossil. From the Upper Jurassic Period, this is a beautiful ancient ocean life fossil group showing finely preserved prehistoric oysters with belemnite and ammonite fossils. Still entombed in their original host rock, a multitude of ammonite fossils can be seen on all sides. This piece shows a mass death event of a host of sea life fossils all buried together and preserved in lifelike form as they were 150 million years ago, when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. From a non-commercial deposit region and suitable for either a diverse fossil collection or for a fascinating and unique interior design accent specimen. Size: 3" thick overall x 22" W x 18" H (7.6 cm x 55.9 cm x 45.7 cm)

Provenance: private Florida, USA collection, acquired in 2005 from a private German collection
