Central Asia, Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan, Gandharan Empire, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A beautiful pottery jar hand-painted with a band of spiral motifs across the sloped shoulder and a undulating striations around the interior rim. Sitting upon a planar base, the vessel presents a broad hip, a narrow neck, a gently-flared spout, and an elegantly arching handle that connects neck base to hip. Size: 4.9" W x 5" H (12.4 cm x 12.7 cm)

Provenance: private Vero Beach, Florida, USA collection, acquired before 2003
