Description:

Native American, North America, New Mexico, ca. 1 to 500 CE. A wonderful framed display of several ancient Anasazi items made from varyious materials. Two small tubes wrapped with string and a long and thin instrument are fashioned out of a desert reed, and two small wooden sticks were likely used as tools for etching and inscribing. There are also two lengthy strings, likely woven from horse hair, as well as several shorter strands woven from leaves of the desert yucca plant. A small pine cone husk as well as an earthen-encrusted disc are included, as are remnants from a woven sandal and fastening strap. An enticing gathering of ancient Southwestern Native American items! Size of largest item (reed tool): 4.75" L (12.1 cm); size of frame: 11.875" L x 18" W (30.2 cm x 45.7 cm).
