Description:

Northern Europe, England, ca. September 3, 1687 CE. An interesting vellum document penned in Latin concerning Thomas Chaffer and signed by "Bransby." It is rare to find a Latin document from England written after 1600, like this example, since England began to use the vernacular for such documents when ties were broken with the Roman Catholic Church during the English Reformation. Size of document: 11" W x 9.5" H (27.9 cm x 24.1 cm); of frame: 25" W x 23.5" H (63.5 cm x 59.7 cm)
