Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A set of 4 free-blown glass jarlets - of yellow or turquoise hues - with circular bodies and attractive iridescence. Included is a strand of 16 Roman beads shaped from glass or stone. Size of largest (jarlet w/ narrow neck): 1.9" L x 1.875" W x 2.3" H (4.8 cm x 4.8 cm x 5.8 cm)

Provenance: Private Lemont, Illinois, USA collection, acquired in the 1980's

  • Condition: Largest glass jarlet with repairs to neck and rim; remaining vessels are intact and very good. Small chips to some beads on bead strand, otherwise in great condition. Nice coloration to beads, and great iridescence on glass vessels.
