Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE; Valley of Mexico, Mixtec people, ca. 1200 to 1500 CE. A set of 4 cast-copper from 2 distinct Pre-Columbian cultures. The celt with the thinnest body is of Chimu origin and features a prominent, crescent-shaped blade emanating from the front of a slender handle. The 3 thicker celts are of Mixtec origin and bear thick butts that could generate much force. Size of largest: 4" L x 4" W x 0.35" H (10.2 cm x 10.2 cm x 0.9 cm)
