Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Chupicuaro, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. A set of 4 hand-built and stone-burnished pottery vessels from ancient Mexico. The first spherical jar features a spotted motif across the exterior while the largest jar bears polychrome linear motifs as well as 4 gently bulging corners around the midsection. The orange-ground bowl features dark stripes and light spots across the exterior, and the last jar features red-painted linear motifs and suspension piercings around the rim. Size (polychrome jar): 4.75" W x 4.2" H (12.1 cm x 10.7 cm)
