Description:

**First Time At Auction**

Ancient Seas, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 2.6 million years ago. This is a fossilized tooth from a prehistoric megalodon shark that has been polished to enhance the lovely coloration of the enamel and inner layers. The upper enamel is naturally a blue-gray color that has a glassy, smooth finish and the interior black matrix contrasts against the lighter hues. The root is a matte black hue, and a piece of white coral has attached to the obverse face - a testament to the tooth's time spend at the bottom of the ocean. Megalodons were the apex predators of the sea, and it is believed that their jaws were strong enough to crush a small car! Size: 3.63" L x 3.14" W (9.2 cm x 8 cm)
