Description:

Ancient Seas, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 2.6 million years ago. This is a handsome fossilized tooth from a prehistoric megalodon shark! The enamel has an attractive gray hue with a warm beige tone and speckled brown inclusions. The root is a mottled gray and brown coloration which is a natural result of the fossilization process, the chemicals and minerals present in the water and sediment determine the hues throughout. If you run your hand from the enamel starting from the end of the root to the enamel tip, there are some petite intact serrations that demonstrate the great tearing capability these sharks had. This is a great fossil from a prehistoric creature that was the largest shark or fish to ever swim through the seas! Size: 4.67" L x 3.72" W (11.9 cm x 9.4 cm)
