Description:

Ancient Seas, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 2.6 million years ago. A beautiful, fossilized tooth from a prehistoric megalodon shark, with attractive lighter coloration and lustrous surfaces. The tooth boasts a creamy beige enamel with remains of petite serrations along the peripheries from tip to root. By thrashing their head side to side, megalodons could easily tear flesh from bones - a frightening thought, especially given how large this tooth is! The bourlette is a dark black and gray - which contrasts well with the enamel and brown root. The colors throughout are a natural result of the minerals and chemicals present in the water and sediment as the tooth fossilized. Size: 4.49" L x 3.85" W (11.4 cm x 9.8 cm)
