Description:

Ancient Seas, Miocene to Pliocene period, ca. 28 to 3.6 million years ago. A beautiful tooth specimen from the Megalodon, one of the ancient seas' greatest hunters. The enamel portion exhibits lustrous white and beige colors as a result of fossilization and still retains many of its original serrations which can be felt with a fingertip. The upper enamel has dozens of thin, vertical striations that feed up into the upper root, and both areas have developed dark gray colors and slightly porous textures. Displayed on one root tip is a chalky white barnacle with a central opening. Size: 5.3" L x 3.75" W (13.5 cm x 9.5 cm); 5.375" H (13.7 cm) on included custom stand.
