Description:

Ancient Seas, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 2.6 million years ago. A biologically interesting example of a fossilized megalodon tooth from a prehistoric shark of a monstrous size! The megalodon is a fascinating and awe-inspiring species - given how an average megalodon would contain around 276 teeth in its mouth at any given time, this tooth serves as a testament to just how enormous this ancient aquatic hunter would have been. The marine life that made this tooth home after it shed from the shark's mouth also holds an interesting life story. The bore hole just above the coral still contains the clam shell and white coral has attached to the root! Size: 4.96" L x 3.79" W (12.6 cm x 9.6 cm); 5.25" H (13.3 cm) on included custom stand.
