Description:

**Originally Listed At $400**

Ancient Seas, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 2.6 million years ago. A beautiful and massive fossilized tooth from the prehistoric megalodon shark! The normally serrated sides have been polished from root to tip, revealing the dark matrix underneath that is normally covered by enamel layers. The intact enamel is naturally lustrous - a beige gray hue, contrasting with the dark brown bourlette and root. This is a massive tooth and clearly shows why these sharks inspire such speculation about their extinction and fear of what is below the ocean's surface. Megalodon was the largest shark and one of the largest fish to ever exist, their jaws capable of crushing a small car! Size: 5.72" L x 4.05" W (14.5 cm x 10.3 cm); 6" H (15.2 cm) on included custom stand.
