Description:

Ancient Seas, Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 1.5 million years ago. A fossilized vertebrae bone from a prehistoric sea creature with additional fossilized shells imbedded in the surface. The original location or species of this bone is unknown, so we can only speculate the species - a whale or some other massive animal that died in the depths or near the shore. Shells and other marine life settled and also fossilized in the sediment surrounding this bone as it aged, and there are clear impressions and white remains in the areas of the stone deposits. Size: 6" Diameter x 4" H (15.2 cm x 10.2 cm)
