Description:

North America, Northwestern United States, Alaska, or Canada, ca. 20th to 21st century CE. A hand-carved figurine made from fossilized walrus ivory, which has developed a beautiful mottled coloration over time. Anthropomorphic figurines carved from walrus ivory and mammoth tusk are well-known in ancient Thule and Old Bering Sea cultures, and this modern artist may have drawn inspiration from those examples as well as from "Venus" figures from other cultures around the world. The surface is highly polished, giving it a pleasing tactile quality. Size: 1.75" L x 0.8" W x 3.5" H (4.4 cm x 2 cm x 8.9 cm)

This is an ESA antique exempt piece of ivory and cannot be sold internationally or to anyone residing in the states of California, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington.
