**First Time At Auction**

Ancient Near East, Sassanian (also Sasanian, Sassanid) Empire, ca. 2nd to 5th century CE. A fine gathering of 5 hand-carved stone stamp seals from the ancient Sassanian Empire. First is a carnelian seal deeply incised with an abstract plant of some form. Next is another lighter carnelian with cow covered with very heavy coat. Next are three white agate examples one with bird one with plant and finally one with very abstract plant(?). Three of us have looked at it and we can't seem to find a distinct pattern. All drilled for suspension. Size of largest: .875" W x .75" H (2.2 cm x 1.9 cm)
