First Nations, Northwestern Canada, Yukon, ca. mid-20th century CE. A pair of vintage mukluk shoes made from deer hide with a cotton lining; the exterior ornately decorated with fur and beadwork, as well as felt appliques. This pair was likely made for the tourist trade, and "YUKON" is beaded onto the toes to remember this keepsake. The white fur may be arctic fox and the shorter brown hairs suggest rabbit fur. Size: 9" L x 3" W x 8.5" H (22.9 cm x 7.6 cm x 21.6 cm)
