Description:

Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Tlatilco, ca. early 1st millennium BCE. A tall, hand-built pottery standing figure with delineated legs, ample hips, perky breasts, sloping shoulders, and sinuous arms grasping at her portly abdomen. This "pretty lady" figure has an elongated head with impressed, slit-form eyes, a triangular nose, full lips, bar-shaped ears, and incised brows. A T-shaped headdress covers the top of the rounded pate, the vertical element of which displays several minute horizontal striations. Covered in espresso-hued pigment, this is a fascinating example from ancient Mexico! Size: 2.25" W x 4.9" H (5.7 cm x 12.4 cm); 5.4" H (13.7 cm) on included custom stand.
