Description:

Roman Empire, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. This spectacular piece of free-blown pale green glass features a deep concave base with a rough pontil, a wide and low bell-shaped body with a pinched neck base, a very narrow cylindrical neck, and a rim with one half being rolled and the other being flat. Silvery and rainbow iridescent highlights envelop both interior and exterior surfaces. This design was made to minimize the evaporation of precious liquids like perfumes or oils. Size: 3.55" W x 5.75" H (9 cm x 14.6 cm).
