Roman, early Imperial period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A lovely bottle of a petite size that is free-blown from translucent glass of a pale blue-green hue. The vessel is defined by a slightly concave base, a piriform body with a corseted neckline, a cylindrical neck, and a flared rim with an in-folded lip. This bottle was perhaps used to store scented oils or perfumes, and solidified remains of the original contents are still visible within the body. Attractive silvery and rainbow-hued iridescence has formed across the composition. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 1.75" W x 4.625" H (4.4 cm x 11.7 cm)

Provenance: ex-private Davis estate collection, Houston, Texas, USA, acquired around 2013
