Costa Rica, Ca 200 to 800 CE. Found in Costa Rica, but the style screams Mayan from the southern Mayan territories. Mottled red and white stone bifacially knapped into dagger form with short handle. This style - except usually unifaced - are often found coming from the rivers of Belize. 5-1/2"L. Provenance: Ex-private Goodrich collection, Boulder, CO, acquired in the 1960's by a US Biologist studying ticks on the armpits of bats (now that is a field you don't often hear about!). All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
