Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A lovely hand-built polychrome bowl, with a rounded body and stable base, the walls slightly incurving to the thick rim. The exterior is slipped in a warm creamy beige hue and overpainted with black pigments that are in scalloped and linear patterns reminiscent of scales or feathers. Size: 5" Diameter x 3.25" H (12.7 cm x 8.3 cm)
