Description:

Mycenaean, Late Bronze Age II, ca. 1450 to 1200 BCE. An elegant bichrome pottery pilgrim flask with a lentoid shaped body upon a petite foot, a tubular neck rising to a flared rim, and twin loop handles joining neck to shoulder. The surface of each face is beautifully decorated with concentric circles delineated in red on cream; the neck and both sides are decorated with horizontal frets in the same coloration; finally the handles, rim, and curvilinear borders around each face are solid red. A gorgeous example from this very early Greek culture! Size: 3.2" W x 4.5" H (8.1 cm x 11.4 cm)
