Native American, North America, west of the Mississippi River, Mississippian, ca. 11th to 14th century CE. A fabulous pottery jar boasting a minimalist form with a rounded base, a spherical body, a rounded shoulder, a corseted neck, and an annular, gently flared rim. Note how the gray surface exhibits lovely remains of red, white, and black decoration along the shoulder. Size: 7.5" Diameter x 7.1" H (19 cm x 18 cm)
