Description:

Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A striking bronze dagger cast via the lost wax (cire perdue) technique to feature a long, double-edge blade with a vertical rib, a lunate handguard, and a flanged handle. Fine weaponry like this example was incredibly expensive to produce in the ancient Near East, so this sword perhaps belonged to - and was buried with - an individual of high wealth and status. Size: 1.9" W x 13.9" H (4.8 cm x 35.3 cm)
