East Asia, Japan, Edo Period, ca. 1603 to 1868 CE. A pair of finely cast bronze Menuki sword adornments in the form of writhing dragons with remarkable detail. Menuki are usually found under the handle wrap on katana and wakizashi. They not only served as a form of identifying the sword's owner, but also imbue the sword with great character. Custom, museum-quality stand. Size: each measures ~ 3" L (7.6 cm)
