Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built bichrome figure, sitting with fingered hands placed upon folded legs, facing forward with an expressive visage comprised of large almond-shaped eyes, a pointy nose, and an open mouth revealing incised teeth. Though nude, his body is adorned with a headband/headdress, elaborate ear ornaments, nose ring, multiple armbands, as well as extensive striated, black-on-white tattoos. A wonderful example with extensive detailing! Size: 6.375" W x 8.75" H (16.2 cm x 22.2 cm)
