Pre-Columbian, Central Peru, Huari (Wari) / Chimu culture, ca. 700 to 1500 CE. A standing bone figure carved from an ungulate / camelid bone wearing a zoomorphic headdress, both faces are inlayed with shimmering nacre shell eyes. The bone is hollowed out creating a pronounced groove, perhaps to serve as a spatulate implement. Size: 0.75" W x 4" H (1.9 cm x 10.2 cm); 4.25" H (10.8 cm) on included custom stand.
