Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero region, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. A petite bead, hand-carved from mottled emerald-green stone with sage-hued inclusions, in the form of a charming canine head. The amusing countenance presents with drilled eyes, a thick nose between puffy jowls, a grooved forehead, and a pair of ears folded back atop the head. A biconically-drilled suspension hole is oriented through the mouth and enables the bead to be strung on a necklace or bracelet. Size: 1.3" L x 0.75" W x 0.9" H (3.3 cm x 1.9 cm x 2.3 cm).
