Classical World, Etruria, ca. 5th century BCE. A wheel-thrown redware pottery olla of a slightly compressed spherical form with a round but stable base, a sloped shoulder, a gentle groove around the neck base, and a thick rim surrounding the cavernous basin. The exterior surfaces bear evidence of red-orange pigment characteristic of fine Etruscan pottery. Size: 8" W x 5.6" H (20.3 cm x 14.2 cm)
